I did. I've chosen to disregard them and re-iterate my feelings towards the banned EM's. Howell's in particular. Sasha, Digweed, and Howell's EM's were THAT good. These guys are the big leagues dude. The rest are meh (debatable) in comparison. It's like asking who the best teams in the sweet 16 were when the final four has already been played out. |
Other than Dubfire, pretty much reflections my opinion.
Here's my Top 5
1. Digweed: Absolute 2 hours of bonkers house music
2. One+One: I gotta listen to this few more times, but first 2 times I've heard it blew me away. Dares to put in some different stuff than what the other DJs did. (ie lots of acid. I love acid)
3. Howells: Because nobody can put together 2 hours of smooth prog like this guy
4. Sasha: first 30 mins was meh, but picks up party house to another level
5. Groove Armada: Probably my fav funky house duo, this one had everything from deep house, to funk, to even some drum and bass at the end.
Honourary mentions:
-Gabriel Ananda: Not the biggest fan of minimalish stuff, but this dude had a kick ass set. More techy than i thought, which is good.
-High Contrast: Never heard liquid funk drum and bass before, and I'd have never associated chill out and drum and bass together, but this one delivered.
-John Askew: Not the best trance set on EM, but was decent enough to catch my attention. (plus there weren't many good trance EMs this year)
Gabriel Ananda. Groove Armada. John Askew. High Contrast
