Personally, I prefer when the beat takes me over, but there are definately some tracks in which I enjoy the vocals. The best vocals are those which get you thinking. The best example of this is that I can think of is

Cass & Slide - Perception (Vocal Mix)

I absolutely love the vox in this song. Very moving, and definately adds to the track, in my opinion.

When I'm on the dance floor though, I'd much rather not have vocals, because people start to pay attention to them too much and not feel the music or enjoy the party going on around them as much as they should.

I might be along on this, but I see vocals as a musical force. Trouble is, getting a good singer, & getting the singer to sound good.

I guess this is your opinion.
I didn't like Riva "Stringer" with or without vocals but Dannii Minogue has been in trance before and for a long time.

Dannii Minogue "All I Wanna Do" (Trouser Enthusiasts Mix) is an EXCELLENT TUNE and the vocals in this are top notch and fit the track perfectly, this is one of my all time favourite vocal tracks and always will be so it's no surprise that she was asked to do vocals in this track, shame it didn't work well.

Bad vocals:

In my opinion:
Fragma - any track
Angelic - any track
Mezziah "Innocent As A New Born Child"

are all examples of awful vocals!

LOL i really like that track, Planet Perfecto - Bullet in the Gun
