Comments and Questions?

Can someone tell me what kinda of music Marcus Shultz played? I thought he was trance? I was really looking forward to his set but I was extremely dissapointed. That didn't sound like trance to me.

Why are people so shy in Montreal? In Toronto when I started to go to raves I learned that the main reason for going is to meet new people. Raves are supposed to be a social event. All the time in Montreal no matter if it's an after hours or event, people look at you weird for talking to them and being freindly. In TO it's common for people to at least look at each other and smile while your dancing.

I've been going to raves for 10 years now and I have really seen a decline in the quality of music. I guess cause it's more commercial. Most of the DJ's I have heard lately, sound like they are just playing the same three records thier while set. Do other oldtimers feel this way?

Anyways, this party really opened my eyes. I think I am going to officially stop. If the music sucks and the people are snobby the only reason to go is for the drugs and that's not a good reason to go.

Bal en Blanc will have an even worse lineup. I can't say much about the ppl, but some of your points are very very valid, imo. You may see less PLUR types and more posers as BeB continues to go for ticket sales, who knows? I met lots of cool randoms still. As for Markus Schulz, lol.. I enjoyed his set but I can see why

I go bother people all the time bursting their bubbles to snap shots of them. 99% of people are genuinely nice and respectful, we chat a lil here and there, its really great or I wouldn't be shoot pics anymore.

It has to do with the language, and your charisma, some people have it, some people don't.

That Deadmau5 thread proved to me how frustrating (or pointless?) it can be to determine edm genres but the hour I caught of Schulz blended with the other house djs I heard earlier, and it arguably had more energy for most househeads to dance to than Lawler's set even.

Simple: In Montreal, the main reason to go out is to party, dance, enjoy the music, not meet new people. It annoys me when i'm grooving on the dancefloor and someone keeps trying to engage in a conversation when it's clear that right now, it's just not the moment. I'll always meet new people when I chill on the sides, in the stands, etc

Like the DJ's, maybe should learn to read the crowd?

People are really friendly and easy going in Montreal, just pick the right moment to initiate a conversation!

BTW, I can't see how meeting new people should be the MAIN reason for going to raves/after hours??? MUSIC is the main reason. Like DJ XL says: Shut up and dance!!!

P.L.U.R! hehehehe!
