My dad had two industrial size buckets FULL OF PENNIES that he accumulated over the roughly 15 years he owned his store, and I took them to my local Coinstar in 2001 to cash them all.
I had two of my friends help me cash all those in, and wound up overfilling one Coinstar at one gorcery store, took the rest to another Coinstar where it felt like we were coming close to doing the same thing.
The results? 50,000 PENNIES. Unfortunately, the accumulated taxes wound up taking about 50 bucks, but 450 dollars was not at all a bad take (and it's actually a small price to pay for avoiding rolling them up by hand). It took half the day to do it, but it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We took pictures, and I'll see if I can post em' up.
Good times. |
if I could take a baseball bat to coinstar, I would. fucking rip off machine. like poster above pointed out, why not take it to the bank and get ALL your cash, instead of paying some c*nts for something u get for free? money waste FTL

And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. |
