I just presented a more general viewpoint: No matter if you watch an artistic film or some crap like Transformers just for entertainment during a flight, much will be lost on a tiny screen.

Nobody says you can't be entertained by 5 pixel tall people talking through shitty speakers for 2 hours. You can. It just sucks.

What point did I miss? That someone else thinks it's shit and/or sucks to watch something on a notebook or PMP screen?

I didn't miss that point - I just don't care about it, much like I don't care about whatever you (or anyone else) thinks is "lost" when watching a film on a notebook or PMP screen. You seem to think I'm advocating a position where watching anything on these devices is better or just as good as experiencing them any other way - so if you could point me to exactly where I said that, I'd really appreciate it so that I can be certain what I'm saying is crystal clear for those of you incapable of reading and comprehending.

So in summary, I haven't missed anything - I just don't care about your (or David Lynch's) opinion on the matter.

The same thing you missed again when you wrote:

You accuse me of not comprehending what you say, while your doing exactly that yourself. What I "seem to think" is not what I do think, and I never said such a thing anywhere. All I did was utter my opinion on this subject.

It's good for you that you don't care for other people's opinions. Please just note two things:
1) Somebody disagreeing with you doesn't mean he misunderstood your arguments or is attacking you personally.
2) I'm right, you're wrong.

It really depends "what" your watching, It's cool to watch a tv show on an ipod, but it really isn't worth it to watch a full length movie. South Park and other show's were there isn't a whole lot of stuff going on the screen are great for ipods.

Let me just show you one thing quick here:

Great for David Lynch - but if I feel like bringing a laptop, iPod, or any other portable media player on a plane to watch a movie the point is for me to be entertained, not to respect some pretentious twats idea of how "his" film should be watched.

To which your reply was:

Apart from artistic integrity and your obvious dislike towards David Lynch, you can't seriously be claiming that watching a movie (insert your favorite movie here) on an iphone comes close to watching it on the big screen, or on a good system at home. That's like listening to music (insert your favorite track here) on some crappy laptop speakers instead of a decent sound system. So much is lost.
And a track lasts less than 10 mins, a film over 2 hours. Like Lynch says, you're cheated.

Now what is it in your reply that has anything at all to do with the statement I made about wanting a portable entertainment device? Did I say "Watching a movie on an iphone is the same as watching it anywhere else."? Absolutely not.

So regardless of whether or not you were just "offering an opinion", the opinion itself had absolutely nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

Nice try though, someday you'll be able to come up with something relevant.

I pointed out why I think these devices are not suitable for that purpose.

Now excuse me please. I have a more intelligent discussion going on with a loaf of bread right now.

Oh, sick burn - you got me there.

Again, reading, comprehension, etc. - and regardless, you and David go on having a nice day.

I hear the weather is always perfect in such closed minds.
