RESPECT for michel:
Dutch DJ and Producer Michel de Hey has been asked by Pete Tong to do an Essential Mix. De Hey his professional career as a DJ began in 1989 and with his first record "Break" he even entered the top 10 of the US Billboard Dance Charts. His "Future..." clubnights at the basement of Nighttown in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, are one of the longest running clubnights of the Dutch dance scene.
Michel has had several top DJs for his clubnight such as Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Billy Nasty, Josh Wink and many others. He has been playing his distinctive tech-house sound all over the world for years now. Besides deejaying he's also managing his own labels like EC Records, CC Records and Brave New World having artists like GERD, Sensurreal, Chord Symbols, Secret Cinema, Graylock, Literon, Luminance, Biological and others. Michel de Hey has been nominated several times for national dance awards such as the Lucky Strike Dance Awards, the TMF Nokia Awards and the Update Dance Awards. He won an award two years in a row for being Holland's best techno DJ. Just like Richie Hawtin and John Aquaviva, Michel is also a frequent user of the revolutionary "Final Scratch" sytem.
