in fairness, they were missing Toure, Senderos and Alex Song, the latter of who has played very well in the cup but is now on African Nations duty. I don't think Spurs were 'that' much better, they just took their chances, Fabianski had a poor night and 5-1 totally flattered them. 2-0 or 3-1 would've been more balanced on the game itself.
