ditto. if Atonement starts sweeping awards, i would be very saddened. i thought the beginning was brilliant, but after that, it went downhill faster than the DJIA this morning.

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis (hand's down) for There Will Be Blood Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem for No Country For Old Men Best Actress: Laura Linney for The Savages Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett for I'm Not There
Best Director should go to Julian Schnabel for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly but I have a feeling Paul Thomas Anderson will snatch it up for There Will Be Blood.
Best Cinematography & Best Adapted Screenplay will go to Atonement
Best Picture Gosh, I'm not sure. It's a toss up between Atonement and There Will Be Blood and again I think There Will Be Blood will take it.
All in all, I think this will be a fairly level year, with different movies winning different awards, instead of one movie running away with all the awards.
Also I'm kinda peeved that there was absolutely no nomination whatsoever for 4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days (Best Foreign Language film) Are you kidding me?

I'm surprised Cate Blanchett was nominated for that Elizabeth sequel, only because I heard absolutely no hype surrounding that movie, and I heard the flick wasnt even that good. She's ALSO up for best supporting actress as well?
I thought she's up for best actress in the dylan movie and elizabeth.. so she has 2 of the 5 best actress spots
on Mojo channel (its a HD channel with brighthouse network) has a show called Nothing but Trailers - its 90 min of HD theater trailers and they hyped the shit out of Elizabeth - Golden Age
btw.. Elizabeth was the best movie of the year IMO... Juno was crap..
