So I realize this is an old thread, but my friend who created it referred me to it because I'm now looking into a new cam for myself.

I was set on getting the Canon 870 that is highly recommended but I just learned its being discontinued and that the 880 is its upgrade. However, I do not know if it has the same great video quality for the loud EDM shows.

Does anyone own or have experience with the 880 and know if it does?

getting back into it

dunno about the sound quality but my preference for canons is that they have incredibly fast start up and focus times. that's huge at a club with low/weird light situations...

Yes that's one of the features I love about Canons. I have an old one but my videos NEVER come out clear so I am for sure getting myself an upgrade. I'm just not sure which one yet.

getting back into it

hey connoisseurs, would you get the Canon G10 or the Panasonic LX3 for multi usage...as I don't have much money to spend on lenses...I really like the wide angle thingie to take city shoots...

SD880 is THE camera to get, and one i'm looking to buy (as soon as I find a good deal on it; good deal = <$200)


it has a new digicIV image processor and a new video codec (h64 or something)
