My suggestions for sympatico users:
Switch to rogers. First 4 months are $25/month. I spoke to a dude
on a private ISP that provides DSL: http://www.aei.ca/ to be exact.
He says, that both companies want to gather as much customers as
possible and once they have the market, they fuck you over.
For example, bell will introduce an activation fee - $50. So will
rogers. SO you will not want to switch ISP's. So my suggestion:
SWITCH ISP's, go back and forth. Who knows, you might get
a better service afterall. Don't let them take you over.
That's how marketing works, they want to grab all the customers
and then fuck them over. I'm switching to rogers. I think i rather
pay 25/month for the first 4 months, and have the CAP introduced
a bit later. Once rogers introduces a CAP, I will rethink my
situation again. Possibly: look, or maybe: www.aei.com.
Give other companies a chance, let them expand. If you enough
people do that, it only benefits customers in the long run.
In US you can get free DSL service, you gotta watch pop ups on
your screen, but come on, free DSL, free modem rental. What we
have here is pathedic - rogers & sympatico. It's a fuckin joke.
