erm.. I've alreasdy noticed this pitch thing.. but I think 145+ BPM trance is not normal.. at that speed I only hear techno.. usually trance would fit in well for me at around 137-143 BPM.

Tracks 2 pitch up always:

Ralphie B - Massive
Airbase - Dreamer
Ben Onono - Badagry Beach (Transfer Mix)

the last one, heard at the speed I downloaded just sounds pathetic, without any energy. So different from what I heard in one of Armin's set. This must be played at around 139/140 BPM.

And slowing down tracks sometimes works too, I just can't hear Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tiësto Mix) at 141 as in the vinyl rip I downloaded... way too fast

in the beginning of a set I play at a lower pitch and I speed up to the climax. Mostly between 135 and 142

above 145 is to fast, its difficult to dance too.

hah. i speed up fancy fair, usually to 145+, i guess it all depends on what you're mixing it with.

anyone else have this problem?

i didn't seem to have that problem...maybe sound card prob or something, if you changed the settings on the equalizer on winamp and you use disk writer on the winamp then when it gets decoded the sound maybe distorted because of that (increasing decibels at a range which is to high etc)

i'll have a check

A good example of this is Nu Nrg - Dreamland played by PVD at last years NEC, a tune that's sounds twice as good pitched up.

It totally depends on the song and when I'm playing it . True...some things do sound a little better pitched up a little bit ...but in general, I try to keep as close to 0% as possible....but it really depends on what I'm doing and what direction I'm takin it.
As a rule, it's much easier and less noticeable to bring the pitch up on a song (while it's playing) than it is to bring the pitch down.

Whoever asked about pitch on the computer with winamp.....I've always found the plugin "Pitchfork" to work real well. The only thing about it is that the response time is very slow. ....but as far as how it sounds.....no distortion on my system...I'm not sure if it's still easy to find or not.....if you have trouble finding it and you want it, Email me and I'll send it as an attached file.

i also use this, its an old plugin, i guess they dont make it anymore, dont think you can get it off winamp.com
altho it does lag, i notice no sound degradation and i prefer this to chronotron or whatever
