what's wrong with Gareth? i think he is one of the few rare modern trance producers who actually produce melodic trance that doesn't sound like every other track out there. he's got great melodies, good rhythm work and the sound quality is among the best.

if you don't like melodic trance (anymore) then that's your problem, but please name some modern melodic trance producers who do a better job (and i'm not asking for progressive, dark, tech or psy/goa)

I did, it was average at best. So yeah, I'm not a fan of his remix work, but I'm such a whore when it comes to his original stuff that I had to mention him anyway

because he can be both. Sometimes i find him brilliant , while others times it seems like he just makes variations of the same track. imo of course. Still pretty good overall.
