Not to get in the middle of this... but to all those who bash the hc and hhc styles for being "repetitive grinding noise;" keep in mind that there are plenty of people that will say the same about trace/techno/house music as well. It's all a matter of degrees. Different strokes for different folks no?

A while ago I was having a similar discussion on a different forum, and I made my own hardcore track in the space of 30 minutes to illustrate my point; that hardcore is a stupid, talentless genre, and enjoyed mostly by people with severe brain damage.

Unfortunately it's not "happy" hardcore, but I think it's wise to have a listen anyway, it's a good laugh.

You could argue it's even easier to make minimal... Turn on a drum machine, assign random beeps to keys on a keyboard, and drop a cat on it...

Does ease of creation mean there is no talent associated with it? By that logic, there is no talent required in photography... since any moron can point a $50 point and shoot digital camera at a houseplant, turn on B&W mode, and make art.

Some people would argue that many (maybe even most) EDM producers aren't actually musicians, since they neither read music nor play instruments.

Umm yeh... exactly. Just because the average track quality is low atm (COUGH TRANCE ATM) doesn't mean that the genre is bad.

Ofcourse I doubt happy hardcore has any good tracks. There are some decent hardcore tracks though.

I legitimately like the genre. It is nice and relaxing.
