Pink and Led are good.. but Beatels is just okay for me.. Was it Beatels who made 'Hotel California'? Coz thats the only track I heard and liked from them.. I dont understand the whole hoopla surrounding Beatels in first place.

That's the Eagles, bud

And what's the point of this thread again?

/edit - actually reading down at the thread i realise its pretty pointless attempting to debate this

Well there are some people who can discuss but there's not much to debate about. Questioning someones favorite genre of music is like questioning their favorite food. Eww you don't like THAT food do you? You can't possible take that food seriously!

I don't think we can say that any particular music DEMANDS being taken seriously. Anyone can listen to any type of music for simple enjoyment OR seriously...well...except maybe country? That's pretty cut and dry ; )

Point is though...If I were to listen to classic rock it would be just to have some music going. When I listen to dance music, I'm taken by the groove. The absence of words allows me to explore the music and w/e may be on my mind or in my heart and soul at the moment. Or it may be because I just want some slammin beats to dance my butt off to. But it's the music that demands ME to take seriously while for others, there is other music that demands THEM to take it seriously.

ohbe out...

yeah i considered that which is why chose 'commands' instead of 'demands'.. although on hindsight they mean pretty much the same thing. basically i meant that whilst no music forces you to listen in a certain way, some types kinda call for it more than others. for example, through use of deep/pretentious lyrics

American term for late '50s, '60s, and '70s rock.

Basically rock that was around in the same period as "classic" cars.

Well than I have to say that I have not heard one single from 'Beatels' yet.. I have heard of that name like a zillion time.. and the 'sir' paul mac cartney or whoever he is..

I think Beatels are no good... not many people have actually liked them.. but because everyone died in young age.. they became like mozart..

Elvis Presly > Beatels.

Well, there's nothing wrong with saying that you don't like a kind of music, or that you prefer one kind of music over another. Personally, I don't like jazz; I've never "gotten" it. That doesn't mean that the people who make it are untalented, or that jazz simply "sucks," it just means that it happens not to interest or move me.

But it's quite another thing to say that music-type A is simply better than music-type B, regardless whether anyone prefers B to A.

Why can we say that? Isnt it obvious Brazil is better than Italy in soccer? Isnt it obvious that Russians are good in chess than say people from Poland? Isnt it obvious that Guitar is better than Mandorin?

When soooooo many more people like melodic trance... and so less people actually like jazz.. than isnt it obvious that trance is better than jazz? Just cos 100 people like jazz and media and movies given more attention to them dosent mean that jazz is better. Dont forget that 100,000 people like trance and has approved it and love it... Trance anyday, anytime is better than jazz.

There is a clear uniform agreement that trance is better than other shit glamorized, publisized and hyped genres like jazz.

So all the genres just cant get along with other low quality genres because you invent and call your own genre to preserve your color and shit.
