Tunes some would call cheese, especially compared to Punk..

yes true. but also note that was 1999. as there sets have changed a bit . yes, they have been known to put a trance track into them . but it's not the focus ,key word i posted here is set. they won't spin they same type of set. but they might have a close track....

The problem is you're rating Sasha and Digweed on the type of music they play NOT on their DJing skill, which is top notch. Sasha and Digweed are ranked so high because of their amazing beatmatching and mixing skills. They usually overlay tracks for more than 2 or 3 minutes.

I would argue that Tiesto is one of the most overated DJs in the world, cuz while he might play music that you like and gets the party going, his beatmatching and mixing skills and ability to make a set flow are NOWHERE near Sasha and Digweed and hundreds of other DJs in the world.

So DJs should be rated FIRST on their DJing skills and abilities (regardless of what type of music then spin) and SECONDLY on their ability to make a set flow and tell a story based on their track selection.

I used to hate Progressive House just as much as you do... Same with Drum and Bass. I used to hate it with such a huge passion. Honestly, a couple years ago I NEVER thought I would like them...
But now I love some of both genres. I still don't really like most Prog House and DnB, but they're are some styles of it and some DJs who I absolutely LOVE.

So just keep an open mind. You might hate it now and maybe you'll never like it, but don't close off you're mind completely and keep an open mind to all genres of music and respect the fact that other people might like it even if you can't currently understand why or how.

It's all about familiarizing you're ears to these new and foreign sounds and musical concepts. Sometimes it takes a long time for you're mind to "understand" some forms of music.

I've noticed this in myself so I keep an open mind and respect all forms of music without discrimination, altho there is obviously lots I currently don't like, but that doesn't mean my tastes won't change in the future.

I wasnt insulting.. I was honestly asking a question

Dunno I don't get it

Why are Digweed & Sasha such a big deal anyway?
They spin good music, but honestly - nowadays who
doesn't? Sasha skipped spinning in my hometown and
I wasn't impressed at all. He let a lot of people down
and made the club owners pretty mad.

I dont think S&D are overrated... their mixing and tune selection is awesome. Just because you dont like prog doesnt make 2 of its finest DJ's overrated.

that comment you need to get hit for such stupidty.but then again i was the same way years back... ..... belive listen to this music for a few more years ull gradually love progressive.... .. and no its not fuckin drug music you need to learn kid .... Progressive is a style that u have to grow and envolve with ..there is no cheezy melodies which half the people need for them to enjoy anything about music i mean people are so predicatble now a days they have to have a melody or some riff to make them intrested ...what a great knowledgable and flexable crowd..

You wanted to hear PUNK!!! LMFAO!!! dude go listen to radio then ...mayb sasha & Digweed dint like it cuz most people there were like u wanted to hear commmerical crap .....the only time sasha would ever play punk is if it was an april fools joke and heplayed it to make people think WTF.. but no bro sasha doesnt play crap like punk ..

i can't believe anyone in the electronic music scene would say that.. this is a typical comment some hard-rocker would say, never expected it out of a trancer.

trance (which i love) is probably more "druggie" than progressive, since rushin on an E is not as nice to progressive.

i think progressive is an aquired taste, as it's very deep and subtle and sexy, so if you're 16 you may not be ready for it yet. i used to hate it years ago, but being older now, i trully apreciate it for what it is. and as far as your comment about wanting the "old sasha", well, it's never going to happen because he's progressed (no pun..), and you should open your mind and get with the show...

no point people will never listen to us people just have to find it them selfs later on ...but i agree with you 100% with you .... the biggest think why people think progressive is boring is because they actually dont know shit about it
