The bass was not boomy or muffled; they sounded good just not as powerful as possible. Nothing like DJ headphones, or studio monitors, but fine for travel listening. The mids were great!

The fit was just fine. They come with multiple ear piece sizes, and I went with the mediums (s,m,l included). I would personally stick with the pro line because of sound quality. The consumer line allows you to detach the majority of the cable, so if you have a wired remote, you don't have the wired remote and the full length of the cable. This way you detach the headphones plus a little bit of the cable, and plug into the wired remote, and it stays a respectable length. To me, its just one more connection, and there fore one more transfer, and therefore, one more area for distortion or something to go wrong.

just got the shure SE110s from future shop for $99 + tax
will try them out and see if I want to hold on to them or not...

so do you prefer the foam sleeves or the silicon ones?

Def the rubber/silicone ones. They slide in and out a lot easier than the foam, which can make your ears tender after a while. Remember to keep them and your ears clean. That ear wax builds up quickly.

Since I broke my e2C's recently, I'm gonna pick up a pair of the Shure SCL2's. Can get them for under $100 off of ebay.

Okay so far, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the SE110s..

Except for the mids, both the lows as well as the highs are not very clear. the highs sound skewed and the bass is even weaker than my previous creative EP-630s.

Don't get me wrong, the isolation is very good and the sound is better than the standard ipod headphones...but I'm listening to them as I type this post and there is a lot of things that just seems so wrong about the sound quality for the price that you pay for these.

Comfort wise, I've only tried the medium foam tips yet..which seem OK. They are a little cumbersome to get it in at first (although I've been used to wearing earbuds with rubber tips for a year now).

the only plus points I see are the not-so-flimsy cord (but I don't prefer the original length of the cord without the extension)..and the cleaning tool for wax removal.

still I'll give it a few more days...but I'm pretty sure these will be returned soon. Will have to give the SCL2s a shot.

Remember, they may take a few days of warming up. The highs on my pair sounded almost distorted the first few days, and it magically cleared up, I didn't want to believe it at first, then a reviewer confirmed my thoughts.

Are you sure you can return them? I thought when i asked FS they said no to products like Shures, because they could not resell them.

edit: their return/exchange policy for in-store purchases doesn't explicitly mention about any particular brands they won't accept

Did you like the EP-630s? I have (had) those, and was really impressed with what I got compared to the price I paid for em.
