Well, since it's already been declared that 30 mins is too short, here's one I did a few weeks ago. It's full of solid techno stompers. If the referee is going to stick by the 30 minute rule, my first 30 minutes are all DJ OGI (it just fell together that way).

(this was recorded 1 year after moving to Holland from Montreal, and it's all records bought since being here).

Total play time is about 70 minutes

Tracklist

DJ OGI Teska
DJ OGI Adriatic
DJ OGI Potres
DJ OGI Volum
DJ OGI Pop
DJ OGI + DJ MIKA Off the Party
DJ OGI Cekicarka
DJ OGI + DJ MIKA Avion
DJ OGI Praona
DJ OGI Chx
ANDRE WALTER + CHRIS HOPE Snare Weapon
ANTON PIETE All Hands on Deck
Ryuji Takeuchi Why Now?
MARCO RANE + PAUL BOEX Garuda
BAS MOOY + CHARLTON Ibogaine
LARS KLEIN Shinobi no Mono
BAS MOOY + VINCENT DE WIT The Hours (Mike Humphries rmx)
JEROEN LIEBREGTS Replace or Rename
CHRISTIAN WUNSCH Respuestas Programadas
LOKTIBRADA Nuza
BAS MOOY Nachtschade

When I say 30 minutes, I mean 30 minutes, I can tolerate upto 35 or even 40 minutes if you must squeeze a track in, but there's a reason I put that limit in. It's so that you choose only the best tracks of a particular artist, and even so have a tough time, fitting them into only 30 odd minutes. 60 odd minutes are the norm for an radio show, any tribute mix, but a 30 minute tribute mix calls for proper selection, proper track order and a proper showcase of only the best 5, 6 or if you re good enough 7 tunes of a particular artist.

So what is the (hard and final) limit? 40 minutes(and not a second over)? Sounds better. My first thought was to do Infected mushroom but thats a bit obvious... second thought was Shiva chandra but I don't have enough of their stuff. Electric universe could definitly make an interesting short mix though. I'll probably get it done in about a week. Perhaps a mod could sticky the winning mix for a week or something?

I'm not sure if I've actually got 30 minutes of tunes by a single artist haha

Not without pretty much doing a classics set or something.

Thinking about it I could do an Acute one...

the artist i've chosen is jezper soderlund. i wouldn't call him my favourite by any means; i simply chose him because he's one of the most underrated players in the mainstream trance scene. by underrated i obviously don't mean undiscovered, but unduly slated based on his anthemesque melodic/uplifing tracks when his lesser known deeper techy material (mostly under the parc guise) is superb... which is what i've tried to showcase here;

parc - schizofren
jz - apocalyptica
parc - silver cell
parc - gibson
parc - get us out
arksun - arisen (parc remix)
airbase - pandemonium

lets say the last track has to be mixed in before 30 mins.. i think that's fair.
