Consider me another vote for shutting er down. It really contributes to the sketch of the whole corner/area IMO.

heh ive been there once but im not naive enough to think theres some kind of visible divide between people who go there or dont go there, but go to guv and other events

itll all be the same to the cops when they hit a club that you DO care about

Do you think if you'd ever have DJ'd there your opinion would be the same?

although I don't see this as an attack on clubs in general (it's obviously CZ specific) I do think you bring up a really good point

what pisses me off the most is when someone that barely knows electronic music goes "oh so do u go to comfort zone and get all fucked up for days in a row?" when i mention that i prefer electronic venues to the usual

(the above is based on several conversations prior to comfort zone being in the news)

so whats your point? people i know think i "go to raves" and i dont know but closing every club that isnt a bottle service and vip booth haven doesnt really seem like the ideal way to change their minds about it.

This goes directly against recently published scientific studies urging a reclassifications of drugs according to harmful effects:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6474053.stm

Police agencies across Ontario and Canada have also been told to stop issuing warnings for small possessions of marijuana and to write tickets.

Don't think that the police raids at CZ and their presence at the other Sunday morning place isn't a directly result of these new policies.

Oh dear. Another step in the wrong direction

It makes a lot of sense as to why the Zone keeps getting raided but I really do worry about society and the world our kids will grow in.

but when theres one particular establishment where its pretty blatant that every patron must be on something to be there (sans the handful on here that say they havent), shows something about the venue itself

i agree with you Rach, I'm far from being a dad but I do think about the mistakes politicians are making and the reasons they do the shit they do... just to get re-elected. A war on drugs is gonna do what exactly?...
this just goes to show that media myths and moral panics are huge in our society, giving the public the impression that those of us who prefer these kinds of clubs are usually stigmatized with the label of being part of a "deviant" subculture. stupid politicians and their vested interests

I have to live in the area a hell of a lot more than I would have ever DJ'd there, so probably not.
