My jealousy for anyone who went to this is rising exponentially with every clip I watch in this review....this event is certainly now on my 'to do' list....

OK,

Now that I am back in Toronto and things are starting to get back to normal and I have had a bit of time to digest the past 12 days.

Everything Graham said in his review is perfect as we were with each other for the entire night other than Rush when I went looking for water and decided to wander for a while.

A couple minor things to add which I think Graham missed.

Chill Out Room and Food Room
These rooms were massive (each probably almost as big as the Kool Haus) and were used throughout the night. Paul and Kate had made a comment when we met some of their friends in the Chill Out room around midnight that last year in the morning the place looked like a refugee camp. We all took a break around 5am I think and went to rest up for the last part of the party. Wandering into that room it did in fact look like a refugee camp. People were everywhere in all sorts of positions (sitting on the floor, on the chairs, lying down face first on the floor which was disgusting) everywhere...there was no path or walkway just thousands of tired partiers.

Washrooms
While there was not a huge line for the washrooms by the end they were disgusting, see pics in links below.

Richie
I have never "gotten" Richie before my trip to Ibiza last September, everytime I had ever seen him there would be parts that were simply amazing and others that was even hard to call music. After DC10 (even his set a few days earlier when he played before Sven at the Cocoon Closing party was up and down for me) I finally "got" him and it was amazing. His set at Time Warp again was just something special that you don't get very often. He had that room by the balls and was twisting and turning them, and yet he was making it feel right. Graham and I both made the comment to each other how it was kinda cool to have a Canadian being on top of the Techno world. One of the best parts of the night was just before 10AM Graham and I sat at the back of the room on the stairs to take a break. Richie mixed in a song and Graham says to me "he played this a couple weeks ago at Fabric" and I tell him that it sounds like an old Michael Jackson song and we just sit there talking and enjoying the crowd for another 5 minutes. Then he drops in Billie Jean, I'm kinda in shock to be hearing Michael Jackson at 10AM at a Techno massive in Europe with the 10,000 people left going off to it. Graham grabbed my camera and took a video from where we were which I will upload at some point (He already posted a video of it).

My conclusion with when is a good time to go see Richie.
1. HE HAS TO BE THE CLOSER (he needs the much deserved spotlight)
2. HE HAS TO BE FUCKED UP (just seems to like it)
3. HE HAS TO HAVE A PARTY GOING ON IN THE BOOTH (1+2 leads to 3)

While I was looking forward to experiencing my first European massive I was really looking forward to the week Graham and I would be having in Berlin following Time Warp. I have to say that Time Warp was EPIC and was worth the trip to Germany.

Here are the pics from Time Warp (I will get around to uploading the videos at some point but it may be only on Facebook since they are huge files and I don't know if I feel like editing them - add me if you want to see them)

I have mentioned Tresor and Berghain in this review thread. Will be putting together thoughts on those in the next day or two. Here are a few pics I took at Tresor and there are a few videos which are simply awsome.

The 12 days I spent in Germany and the number of unique partys and clubs and experiences actually blew Ibiza away in my opinion. Everyone talks about Ibiza as it being the be all and end all of the EDM party scene...I'm not too sure about that anymore.

Berlin, Tresor, Berhai/Panorama Bar to come...

Very well put, Jay

I'm really happy you guys had a great time.

Who was saying that they didn't really feel like visiting Germany anytime soon when they were in Amsterdam in the fall?

I seem to remember it being YOU!!!

Now you just need to see Nature1, which doesn't have as much "culture" as Berghain and Tresor, but there is a Tresor Bunker!!! (yes, it's an old munitions bunker and it's all kinds of awesome)

Just found this video...This is honestly like the entrance to the coat check area at Time Warp...other than security wasn't pushing us in

Can anyone identify this guy for me?

This guy had to take over for Richie for about 10-15 minutes when either Richie couldn't play or he had to go to the washroom. Graham thinks its Richie's visual guy...
