For the simple reason that you stated in your second sentence. Yes there are quite a few of the under-21 crowd who are responsible and safe, but by and large, most kids cannot control themselves in a club environment . And of course, with underage kids being out, it may lead to numerous incidents that may reflect poorly on the state of clubs in the New York area (public intoxication, violence, overdoses, sexual crimes, etc.) Now of course this would go the same for clubgoers of any age, but the facts remain the same, 19-year old is more likely to be taken advantage of or be put in a situation they can't get out of than a 26-year old. |
I completely understand where you're coming from. I just hate the fact that when I mention my age, I then get criticized and looked down upon. If I simply had just not gave my real age and said I was 21 or if I just didn't mention it at all, no one would have any idea. I don't like being lumped into the 18-20 yr old crowd that acts retarded. Not all of us are idiots It bums me out bc considering the majority of my age group is, I'm the one getting punished for it by not being allowed to enter a good portion of events..
