Deadmau5 watches the boards..i'm surprised he hasn't said anything yet...he posts quite often on the TOTA when he is being talked about.

but ya, aren't all stereo threads supposed to be closed anyways?

Is that why the Sean Tyas thread is closed?

With all these negative opinions I am a bit worried that we planned a road trip for this night.

Hopefully it will just be fun overall and that the music will be good

3.he's obviously doing something right.

1. how can u say he has his own sound? there are 10000000000000 other tracks and artists that make garbage stuff like his and that sound identical to his. and let me clarify: i'm dissing both his productions and his DJing skills. the guy can't mix. no flow and his track sleection is so horrid. all those things = a bad performance imo. he can actually put together a track; he has the ability to manipulate softwares, youppi! but everything sounds like ass man seriously...how can i put it? well-produced but the result sounds like shit. there we go!

2. i guess i still maintain that just because a trend occurs doesn't mean everyone has to jump on the bandwagon. it's a sad sad sad happening in this industry. old tribal djs are now going a la dubfire and thats it. saying that neither you nor i can stop it is what will make it continue. think about that. without resistance there is no progress.

3. i didn't know doing something right meant completely manipulating the human senses until they no longer function adequately. what is he really doing right? is he contributing anything substantial to this industry with his music/image? true artists will tell you absolutely not. he manages to pull 639164896589236 pilled-out teenage girls/boys who have NO idea what it is they're absorbing. the drugs absorb and make decisions for them. man, he's a new-school benny benassi at best, but without the talent benny really has (ie tight mixing) it's one thing to make a commercial track called satisfaction to get people's attention and then get booked at stereo and play slamming tech house all night, defeating everyone's expectations. it's another thing to do what deadmau5 will do: play a shitty (max) 2 hour set, bow his costume up and down, maybe meet some of his rolling "fans" and then he'll peace out.

...

and im really not trying to start anything with the man himself at all! he's prolly a super cool guy, i dunno him! im firstly judging his music and then i judge what a sellout he is based on his image, etc. there is no need for costumes when one DJs. i think it takes away so much integrity of what it is to be a DJ. i know he lurks here; i know he posts in TOTA boards. so what? i think it just goes to show that i'm really not scared about voicing my opinion as facts when i'm just that damn sure about them.

and i retract my comment about throwing a dead mouse at him. that was mean

i say so much cuz it REALLY bothers me that THIS guy is an indication of where this industry is going. i wanna express it somehow; im not gonna go tell my mom how much it bothers me. obviously im gonna write it here and i hope he replies with somethinggggggg constructive. dude, he doesn't care! he's rich! i guess he's just that main newschool artist out there that bothers me the most. sorry deadmua5.

ok final decision

maher's playing the after8 afterwards so i will show up at stereo at some point but prolly around 6-7am.

after8's are sooooooo sketchy

anyone deciding between deadmua5 and danny howells: PLEASEEEEEEEE do yourselves a favour: save yourselves for danny. it's only an extra 2 day wait. i bet even deadmau5 would have the decency to choose danny howells over himself

He's like Madonna, he has a bit of musical talent but it's his knowledge of what makes 90% of the people in the club go crazy that makes him "unique".

He's an entrepreneur and an entertainer.

90% of the ppl at stereo on a regular night would not go crazy for his garbage sounds. 50% of those 90% would leave.

but it won't be a regular night. the place will be packed with 16-21 yr olds; each one of them, fucked.

an entrepreneur AND an entertainer? my god how i beg to differ. i laugh at him, ya. i guess that's entertaining. and don't kid yourself: he has 6583168956 people ertrepreneuring for him. if maher's starting to ask me (of all freaking ppl) to do PR for him, just imagine what deadmau5 has people doing for him. Everything!!! he doesn't entrepreneur shit. not anymore, at least.

What I meant was, he's marketing his sound and his image.

Madonna can't sing, yet she tops the charts, it's the same in our music don't you think?

And you're right about Stereo, the crowd there isn't usually dumb enough to enjoy his BS but the crowd will be made up of crackers that night for sure, I wasn't using Stereo as an example in my 90% claim.

At the very least, give him credit for being an entertainer and a funny guy, also he just doesn't care about what us chin strokers have to say anyway, so respect for that too.

i agree with you 100% about madonna and the comparison, never said anything against it.
i wouldn't call what he's doing marketing his sound and image. i call it milking the situation. and following what the people marketing him and his image expect him to do to generate sales.
i respect when people don't care what others think, for sure but i think his tactics to enhance his image are absurd and here is the somewhat appropriate place to rant. a funny guy? like i said, i don't know him. i've heard a lot of what he's done, that's all.
