1. how can u say he has his own sound? there are 10000000000000 other tracks and artists that make garbage stuff like his and that sound identical to his. and let me clarify: i'm dissing both his productions and his DJing skills. the guy can't mix. no flow and his track sleection is so horrid. all those things = a bad performance imo. he can actually put together a track; he has the ability to manipulate softwares, youppi! but everything sounds like ass man seriously...how can i put it? well-produced but the result sounds like shit. there we go!
2. i guess i still maintain that just because a trend occurs doesn't mean everyone has to jump on the bandwagon. it's a sad sad sad happening in this industry. old tribal djs are now going a la dubfire and thats it. saying that neither you nor i can stop it is what will make it continue. think about that. without resistance there is no progress.
3. i didn't know doing something right meant completely manipulating the human senses until they no longer function adequately. what is he really doing right? is he contributing anything substantial to this industry with his music/image? true artists will tell you absolutely not. he manages to pull 639164896589236 pilled-out teenage girls/boys who have NO idea what it is they're absorbing. the drugs absorb and make decisions for them. man, he's a new-school benny benassi at best, but without the talent benny really has (ie tight mixing) it's one thing to make a commercial track called satisfaction to get people's attention and then get booked at stereo and play slamming tech house all night, defeating everyone's expectations. it's another thing to do what deadmau5 will do: play a shitty (max) 2 hour set, bow his costume up and down, maybe meet some of his rolling "fans" and then he'll peace out.
...
and im really not trying to start anything with the man himself at all! he's prolly a super cool guy, i dunno him! im firstly judging his music and then i judge what a sellout he is based on his image, etc. there is no need for costumes when one DJs. i think it takes away so much integrity of what it is to be a DJ. i know he lurks here; i know he posts in TOTA boards. so what? i think it just goes to show that i'm really not scared about voicing my opinion as facts when i'm just that damn sure about them.
and i retract my comment about throwing a dead mouse at him. that was mean
i say so much cuz it REALLY bothers me that THIS guy is an indication of where this industry is going. i wanna express it somehow; im not gonna go tell my mom how much it bothers me. obviously im gonna write it here and i hope he replies with somethinggggggg constructive. dude, he doesn't care! he's rich! i guess he's just that main newschool artist out there that bothers me the most. sorry deadmua5.
