I live in the northeast, and while I've had good brat, it wasn't in the northeast. In fact I can't remember seeing anyone around here fixing any ever. Weird

Then consider yourself lucky you don't speak french - then you'd be cringing every other time you hear an english speaker form a sentence. Then again, you get desensitized after a while. The real cringing happends when you talk to english speakers and have to horribly mispronounce words on purpose just so they can understand you.
On the topic of bratwursts - I have never had one, and despite a quick google search I have yet to understand how they differ from giant, more phallic, more penetrating hot dogs.

Weisswurst is also very tasty but extremely fattening. Whenever I make it for my dad I just throw it in water and boil that bad boy - this results in white fat deposits floating around in the pot. YUMMY
