That's realism, not this idealistic shit.

when has realism ever benefitted marketting schemes?

same franchise = same sound.

This industry is freakishly coincidental sometimes.

Yeah. We all know what it is, the acoustic guitars and the occasional piano, the funky but delicate rhythms, a certain type of melodies, waves, birds, everything is soft, warm, relaxed, belearic, summery, tropical islands, eating coconuts, sleeping on the beach, swimming with giant turtles etc.

WOW I have to say I'm actually proud of TA! This could have been a huge thread of Tiesto bashing but instead there is a lot of logical and intelligent commentary being poured into this thread. Granted with the funny quips about the ISOS series and other stuff, I'm not annoyed and actually enjoy reading through this Tiesto thread because people actually can stay on point.

Woo Hoo!

Anyway... someone asked in this thread which songs I heard in ISOS 3 that reminded me of Panama (or Central America).

Noa Assembly - Into the Fire
DJ Hooligan - Hear You Now (Grand Chilles Mix)
Starecase - Faith (Loafer Mix)
Andain - Summer Calling (Josh Gabriel Mix)
Argonout - Your Body Is a Temple
Chiller Twist - Stringz Ultd" (Shelley Mix)
Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (DJ Tiësto Mix)

There is something about the atmosphere of those tracks that if I close my eyes and imagine a big outdoor party along the coast of Panama I can see and feel this music fitting well there. This ISOS had a warm and dark feeling to me, not dark in the Digweed sense, but darker. God it's hard to explain. Bah! It's no use! :P

Well, I don't know all of those tracks, but based on the couple that I do know, I would say either you haven't heard very much Latin American music or that you're just reading too much into the songs.

It's something about the mood and warmth of those songs, not necessarily the "latin sounds." His "Latin America" ISOS had more spanish guitars and such, so I could def point out those elements in that one more easily than this one which is more about the feeling of those tracks for me.

Like I said, perhaps I'm reading too much into them, but I just get that feeling from ISOS:3 can't really get more descriptive beyond that right now unless I really sat and anaylzed it.
