fortunately I have proof. I meant national anthem by the way, not pledge. I read your garbage thread about McCain and I find it funny that you can't post Obama's gaffes. You want to vote in a man who doesn't know how many states are in America, what towns he is speaking in, throws his family members under the bus in front of the entire country and spent 20 years in a church that preaches "white hate", all led by his "mentor". Obama CONDEMNED Imus for his racial remarks on national TV and said he would not be working for him but supported his WHITE HATING reverend. Go try you BS on someone else.

National Anthem Rules - During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. -- United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171

This isn't what I learned in Boy Scouts. In fact, we learned to stand at attention - http://www.scouting.org/Cubscouts/A...ls/promise.aspx

Oh, and how did he throw his family members under the bus? By saying that his white grandmother had made racist comments in his speech on the subject? If that's throwing someone under a bus, most of the people I grew up with are under the bus, too.

And LOL about the "not knowing how many states there are." Fuck, if only our country cared about the incredibly stupid, well thought out, scripted shit that people say rather than jumping on a misstatement. If you really think he didn't know how many states there are, get your head examined.

And if someone sang the national anthem like that chick did, I'd be running the other direction, much less putting my hand over my heart.

How about saying my grandparents were so nice that they paid for my private education? Instead he wanted whitey to feel guilty.

The post that talked about how many states there are was in response to Lebezniatnikov's post with McCain gaffes. If you are going to call one person out, at least do the same for the guy you are servicing.

I don't think you've been paying enough attention if you've missed that aspect. He made it abundantly clear that he loves and appreciates his family. That doesn't make them infallible nor does it mean that comments that they've made have made him cringe. I don't really think that it's all that uncommon of an occurrence.

BTW, why didn't you refute the factual issue that I presented about the national anthem? Oh, right, because it was bullshit and few people cover their heart during the anthem (have you ever been to a sporting event), which is why it's been spread as a lie that this was the Pledge of Allegiance, not the Anthem.

If you call McCain's voting record a "gaffe", then yes, I posted a thread about John McCain's many "gaffes" - if all the ammunition you have on Obama is half-truths (he refuses to wear anything with America on it? lol) then I don't think you really have devoted much time to politics after all.

what a waste of a thread...boohoohooo

look he doesn't wear a flag lapel pin
he doesn't have his hand over his heart while the national anthem is playing.

seriously is that all you have.

how about actually discussing the man's political agenda.
his views on the important issues that affect our nation.
what his plans are.

Heh if he was never in the "know" than why is the Bush administration arguing excutive priviledge hmmm?

It's cute to see how fast you guys close ranks and lambast the very same people you unconditionally defended to the death until they turned against the party. Yea, not so credible.

ps occ. realize something else. you were dead wrong about the surge. thats what you get when you fall for people like Scott McClellan. now go hop a plane

Ummm no, you see I argued for the surge back in 2004 when the war in Iraq was a disaster. You know, when the Bush administration said everything was fine and dandy before they flip-flopped and began the surge campaign. You neocons really have a very short memory. I argued that the surge was a failure at the time when the marines themselves said that the war in Iraq was failing. But sure, feel free to take my words a couple years out of context if that's what you have to do to win an argument. I have always argued that true progress will be started with a a two-fold political/military venture and that has finally began with Maliki's turn of the leaf that just started this year:

So is the new mantra of the 23%ers is that because the bush administration has managed to start progress after 5 years, 4000 lives, and half a trillion dollars all your incompetance has been vindicated?

I'm particularly amused by your last statement because you "fell" for Scott McClellan for the majority of Bush's term in office so I don't know what you think that says about you. Now go hop on a tricycle

Isn't that figure a bit off? Like by a factor of tens of thousands ?

sorry, but they haven't. in fact, your link states that...fail

he's the one with the credibility problem. conversely, it's cute you're now willing to put him on a pedestal. it couldn't possibly be that this joker wasn't a mental giant in the first place, could it?

flip-flopped? what is this an election campaign? no, it's war. name one war where America never changed strategies.

please. take you out of context? you were parroting Harry Reid as if he were the 2nd coming of Christ. you couldn't speak about the surge for months without condemning it to premature failure.

it's the effort as a whole that us 23%'ers want something good to come out of. we deal with setbacks, gains, more troops, less troops, small victories, more setbacks, as a way to achieve our goals if thats what you mean by mantra. my attitude and seriousness about this war hasn't changed a bit. it's not glamorous. sometimes it's humiliating, but one thing is for sure we won't give up.

i want to get something straight. if the Democrats had ever succeeded in their empty promises about precipitous withdrawl after 2006, ultimately letting those 4000 deaths go in vain, you would have cheered from the rooftops knowing we weren't going to spend another $500 billion in Iraq. thats how f**king shallow your attitude about the Iraq war has been.

Why did we go into Iraq in 2003, but not Sudan in 2001 or 2004 or Burma in 2006? Why not Zimbabwe in 2007?
