I dunno, if you ask me our votes are totally worthless, especially with Electronic voting systems designed to be tampered with. Furthermore I don't buy any politicians game because as soon as they take office they forget all those promises they made for the American people and take care of the lobbyists who gave them the most money to put him there in the first place.

Granted that the White House is taking the "he's a disgruntled employee" position, but have you been paying attention to former WH Press Secretary Scott McClellan's new book? Even without his first-hand accounts, are you seriously saying that you haven't seen enough evidence that the justifications were skewed in order to promote the war? I think it's been fairly clear that we disregarded evidence that showed Iraq had no WMDs and that only news supporting (sometimes already disregarded by the intelligence agencies as false) was given to the American people.

Well, I liked your ice cream store example so I'll relate it to this. Pretend, you have a friend who owns an ice cream store, and a friend who's a health inspector. You get the health inspector to declare the competitor's ice cream store a failing inspection grade and have it shut down. Your friend with the ice cream store buys out the competitor at a cheap price out of their desperation to sell quickly, and voila, you have the Iraq War!

On this topic, more or less, I was having a conversation with some relatives this weekend about "the mafia".
