I cant sleep with the tv off.

For some reason, i just wont doze off witout some background sound and visuals..

I'm normally the same. Any background noise like the water boiler, strong wind, audio on the tv/radio, is usually enough to make me drift off.

i have a horrible time getting to sleep without some kind of tranquilizer, but i have found a few things that help. The one that i think makes the most difference is incense. If i light some incense and put on some really relaxing music on a fairly low volume but loud enough so that i'm not straining to hear it(stephen halpern's "Chakra Suite" is a really good one), i can usually get to sleep within the hour.
