It would destroy a floor for sure.

I really like it.

Just thought I'd clear this up after reading some of the comments on this board.

I made this cover in about 4 hours for fun one day, for myself to play in clubs. In case people didn't know, Push (M.I.K.E) did the original in 1 hour one morning after splitting from his GF at the time!

I made it to play in my club set. Trance has been unfashionable since being raped to death in 1999 time ... but I still love it and I knew this would be a stand-out track in the set if done correctly. "Why don't I just play the original" ... well, whilst the original is one of my favourite tracks ever, it's unplayable in clubs for me now because it's been played so much (it sold something like 300,000 over ten years) - but also nowadays the drums/percussion sound a bit harsh and grooveless to my ears.

So I had a vision of making a remix which fitted my taste, that stayed true to the original theme but with my own synths playing the sounds, a drum track which is nicer on my ears, more groove - but most importantly by far, a new arrangement which fitted my vision - and I did exactly this when I found some studio time, which isn't very often I can tell you!!

I sent to just a couple of top DJ's and they loved it, including JZ, Nick Warren, Hernan C ... I let Bonzai hear it and they immediately signed it for release (not as a cover though, as a remix). It will be released as a remix by Bonzai in a couple of months ...

As for "they have no idea what to do next" ... that remark couldn't be more off-target in this case. In the weeks after I completed this mix I did another 3 original tracks, "Call & Response", "Trinity" and "Moob" ... 2 of which have been released since ... and in the case of "Call & Response" it has really blown up over the summer so far. I have also done another original track "Mea Culpa" which has just come out ...

why do ppl feel the need to recycle old tracks for no good reason?

Which, imo, is largely due to lack of original ideas.

Fair enough, I'm sure there are producers out there who make covers because of a lack of original ideas.

But as I said in my post above, around the time of the Universal Nation cover I made "Call & Response" (which has been my biggest track to date) along with The Trinity and a few yet-to-be-released tracks, i.e. Moob which Jody Wisternoff was playing recently, so I'm telling you "Universal Nation" wasn't remade for a lack of original ideas or "for no good reason" ... re-read my post!

Yeah, and I wasn't accusing you of it. General statement.

not really feeling this remix
maybe its just iam so used to this track being a more "trance" sounding not really a house/tech sound
i heard armin drop push- the legacy (matt zo remix)about 2 weeks ago and to me it was just not the same sounded too much deadmau5 kinda
it did not bring nothing new to the track to me it down graded it lol
and i stumbled onto this a few days ago
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MU74H2VYlU
horrible horrible remix
and to top it all off i saw a link a few weeks ago on bonzai's website on a competition on remixing old songs
like airwave,push,plastic boy-silver bath
me personally iam sick of all these remakes and remixes that bring nothing to it
just leave the tracks alone!!!!! move on come up with something fresh
the past is past
p.s it didnt take m.i.k.e 1 hour to write universal nation it was 4 hours

Then why send it out to other DJs? Your remix is utter turd and you're a dick head.

I can't believe James would even play such gash.
