no lie it takes a good 5 mins for the comp to turn on. then it takes a good 3-5 mins to login into windows. then it takes another 2 mins for all the apps to load. then another 2 mins after you try and open internet explorer.

oh and did i mention every time you turn on the computer and wanna use word or excel it actually has to install.

seriously for an engineering school, its got to be the worst system of all time.

Yoji came from Japan and he played in New York a week ago... Entrance $15!!!
Then he goes to Canada.

What about Miami? Or anywhere else in the states?

I think the states in general has a trance problem. They don't know who to book.

And when they do book, like Johan Gielen at Space years ago... It was me and 3 other people that showed up!!

It's ironic, I told an event organizer at Starbucks a few days ago "Miami has one good week, the rest is crap... winter music conference in March"

That is the truth folks.

And none of my friends want to go to BF Downtown to party. I'd gladly see a trance act/dj at the Hard Rock over down town!!

When I went to Emory in Hotlanta, you could always count on Liquified to bring in good talent pretty much every week. The great thing was they'd often book them at smaller venues too so it was more intimate.

Down here?...I agree, it's rougher than people think trance/prog-wise.

I refuse to go to Space or any of the downtown/DD clubs anymore just because of the element in many of those clubs tbh. I've seen some stuff down there I never wanna see ever again, so (I'd rather/I'm forced to) pay more and go to something a little more upscale. I'm not saying I enjoy all the douche bags in the SoBe clubs or anything either, but it's better than the alternative.

I love the scene in Chicago and New York, however, esp. Chicago.

Its amazing how the people who 'just moved here' can already gauge a scene by the first couple of months they are here.

Granted, WMC is a massive week..but there are festivals and parties outside of clubs all the time, and enough clubs downtown, at the beach, or even at the Hard Rock to choose how you want to have a good time.

If you can't find a good party its because you either dont know anyone or are not a smart clubgoer. the fact that you can gauge your crowd also means you go to the same places everyone else goes. why not trying something different this week instead of heading to the huge clubs like all the other sheep?

There are dozens of local dj's that frequent clubs all over miami. they dont all play the same music..in fact, why dont you ask some on here for some good upcoming parties?

there are plenty of options to choose. dont be lazy and say there is no scene when we live in one of the most diverse musical parts of the country. If you want to see a top headliner, face the fact that they dont come here because clubs and promotional groups dont want to dish out enough cash to properly promote the event.

Sure, New York might have a huge scene, and so does Chicago..but you are comparing to totally different urban areas, one of them being the main reasons house music is even here in Miami.

And at least here in Miami, you can be sure that 99% of the big events dont land on weekdays. We are also the kings of Afterhours in the US which adds a whole other facet to our scene.

WMC is great!

This is my 2nd year going and I loved it! I think that Miami is similar to San Diego in that there are a bunch of "scenesters." People who don't have a clue who's spinning, they just want to tell their friends that they partied at Mansion or Space. To be honest, I think that you will find that most cities suffer from a large number of douchebags and not enough real EDM fans.
