There's usually a fat ass guy that I hate to death that brings in the large speakers and extra subs (cory knows who I'm talking about). There shouldn't be a problem in sound. That would be sweet btw if you came down.

As long as I have the honor of being blended with Dirk's pigface I'm fine.
Oh and never ever ever never fucking ever volunteer when it comes to this scene. People are making money so get some of it. Also goes back to a DJs main rule of never playing for free.

+1...lesson learned. and...given I was really just doing this to try and give support for that night, I told this guy to get me a water because I'd been drunk as fark the night before and was dehydrated. He said "no" because a bottled water at BarRio goes no lower than $2...and thats when I just walked away and watched him sweat his fat ass off while I was setting up the cdjs and mixers and shit up on stage with Cory

bar rio has come a long way.The sound has improved but still has a long way to go. i know its difficult to get the perfect sound in such a large place but. I have been to large clubs across the country(webster hall, pacha, ruby skye just to name a few) and i know it can be done. but i do give props to the promoters and people behind the scenes working to make bar rio another great venue it may not be there just yet but keep up the good work. one last thing is get rid of the fucking air horn...that shit is whack.

There is A LOT involved in getting a good sound system than just going out and spending the money on high end speakers. and as large as bar rio is it would probably cost more than what is in reach. they have made some improvements to it. but honestly they would have to replace the entire floor in there and also have a sound engineer to come in and set up all the acustics for the club. now if houston had money like new york and La and Miami and what not than it would be a different story. But for the mean time as long as the head liner keeps the shit out of the red and quits over working the sound system it seems to sound SOOO much better in there. Peaking out all the levels does not mean it gets louder.
