Longevity, decor, experience, parties... it is a world class experience. It truly is a super club... so of their practices may not be to peoples liking but they are still a business out to make money.

Guv has been around for 10 years and Charles continues to try and make it fresh and new. In terms of a venue it is most definetly world class and as I said it should be in the top 10. Guv still brings in the DJ's, and puts on great events. While I haven't been to a big event at Guv in a long time you always have the chance of being wowed and having an experience everytime you go there (like everyone told me when there were at Guv 10 year).

and she fitz...sorry i've been to guv, and while i have not been to every club in the world, it is almost last on my list. |
You know I totally agree with you on Berghain. There really is no comparison for me to any other club I have been to. However, to dismiss Guv the way you are I think is very short sighted. I didn't have the greatest time at Pacha Ibiza - I left after about 2 hours cause Sander sucked ass and the crowd was awful. However, it is a great club, its just not for me.
You may not have had a good time when you have been to Guv. You may have hated the crowd, the heat, the over crowdedness and yes Mark Oliver. But if you step back and look at the club itself (the venue, lights, sound (yes it can be better), the dj booth, etc. and you compare it to the other clubs you can't say it isn't in the top 10.
I would also put Tresor a lot higher on the list as well. The two times I have been there the place wasn't crowded and there was no one special there. But, the club itself is most definetly an experience and I could just imagine how great of a time I would have there if Richie, Sven etc. was playing there.
