"Stereosonic began in 2007 in Melbourne. Against all the odds, and in a universe where the Empire continues to rule the galaxy with an iron fist, two companies came together, like minded, to discuss there love of music. Onelove, Australia’s number weekly club night hosts in 5 cities weekly with over 250,000 young people through its doors yearly. Previously (and in some cases STILL) home to world superstars such as Dirty South, Kaz James/Body Rockers, TV Rock, James Ash (Rogue Traders), John Course and more, Onelove is not only a club, it’s a musical portal for the 18-25 youth crowd. Somewhere between NME, Mixmag, Modular, Designers Republic, Tomato and more, Onelove is not only a club but a label with Sony and a youth website where 1000s hang out each week plus a local internet TV host.
On the other hand Hardware Corp and Totem are no strangers to music. From touring the likes of Paul van Dyk, Bookashade, Jeff Mills, Miss Kittin, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto and more for over 16 years, Hardware has had a record store for half of that time plus has held over 300 events and 100 festivals in that time. Most famous being Two Tribes, Millennium 2000 at Docklands and Apollo which first brought Daft Punk , Basement Jaxx and Jeff Mills to Australia in 1998. Way ahead of its time.
Heading up the Rebel Alliance, these two friendly organisations decided to take the plunge, and do something different. Not only on a musical level, but also on the way we sell our tickets hand to hand to the venues we use. In a galaxy where festival sites are few and far between, way too many events are being held in stale run-of-the-mill spaces. We aim to try and change this."
