lol... I'm not kidding though, a resurgent Russia will be better for the rest of the world outside its former blocs. I think its a sacrifice the world is going to take rather than risk the spector of a new Cold War.

What do you want? A free Georgia or 16,000 nuclear weapons cocked locked and ready to rock again?

Even if clue sat on your face and farted in your mouth, you would be like "what the fuck was that?". Russia has no business in Ossetia. I'll use an analogy simple enough for you to understand: let's imagine Vermont decides to declare itself "independent" and says it never really separated from Canada. Just because there is a shit load of Canadian citizens in Vermont, that does not give Canada right to move their tanks in, claiming that they are there to protect their citizens.

Going further back, funny how Russians decided to first declare Georgian produce/wine/etc "not healthy" and pulled it from all markets and subsequently destroyed it. It the proceeded to drive georgian business out of the country, closed restaurants, shops, whavever else georgians had in russia without any compensation, telling that "they were non-compliant" or whatever else bullshit reason they had.

they then supplied ossetia with weapons, conducted bombings and provocations, etc to pull georgia into conflict. all of this over what? oh that's righ - fear that georgia would join NATO.

Russian strong-arm, mafia-style politics are well-known around the world. It's a fucking racket, lead by Putin and his chronies with a patsie Medvedev as a puppet "head of the state". Nigggaaaaa pleeeeeez!

For russia, this is nothing more than an opportunity to settle some scores, while flipping off west and saying "fuck you, what the fuck you gonna do about it?" for all the "mistreatment" it supposedly suffered. this is nothin more than an opportunity to rally the people and give them a sense of "national pride" in a country that's going straight into the shitter, regardless of it's wealth or natural reserves. this is ALL ABOUT showing the world that russia is "off their knees", while demonstrating latest military gadgets.

I'd love to drink the same cup of happy bullshit kvas you drank, but I'm afraid my body would be too alergic to such volumes of it.

Show me proof that Ossetia has been Russian territory and then we can talk. Just because Russian citizens occupy the territory, does not make the country part of "russia". Ask Ukrainians about that, jackass.

Edit: some food for thought... other european countries also feel that this is Russia's invasion of Georgia. Of course, Russia will dismiss any of this claiming these countries are pro-west.

I'm just curious - if you're such a patriot, why don't you fly back home, put on some uniform and go protect the motherland and join the cause?

I'm not fighting for shit. But I simply disagree with you. Russia has business in an area that's definitely pro-Moscow and has Russian citizens. Regardless of what you say Georgia was the FIRST to move their military into the area and Russia simply responded to it. This is what makes it acceptable to me.

If Russia moved their tanks into the area. Squatted down and said "OK niggas this is now part of Russia." Then you might have an argument.

Sweden's Foreign Minister Carl Bildt also demanded a "very strong response" from the EU, and raised comparisons between Russian actions and those of Nazi Germany. He said: "No state has the right to intervene militarily in the territory of another state simply because there are individuals there with a passport issued by that state or who are nationals of the state.

"Attempts to apply such a doctrine have plunged Europe into war in the past... And we have reason to remember how Hitler used this very doctrine little more than half a century ago to undermine and attack substantial parts of central Europe."

dont lie, if you were putin you'd be all over any sort of easy move to make sure your neighbors dont join nato.

Georgia was the prime target cause they were the largest US ally, but the US can't risk any UN Security Council vetos on Iran, which is a much bigger fish to fry.

I gurantee you now that the Czechs and the Polish will def rething their missile shield plans, and Russia will be more than obliged to help the US out with Iran.

War is an extension of politics by other means or however that saying goes and this is a prime example.

1. Regardless of what Russia thinks, this territory is still OFFICIALLY part of Georgia. No european country, aside from Russia itself and other break-away regions have recognized it's independence.

2. If russia wants to protect its citizens in the area - provide planes, trains and automobiles so that they can get the fuck out

3. Russia is doing EXACTLY THAT - squatting the territory. Ossetians have been BEGGING to be considered part of Russia for several years now, however it was a bit shy about openly claiming Ossetia as "their own". Now, it is hiding behind "we're protecting our citizens" BS to move in and take it. Thing is, that most of the sane world sees it for what it is - a first step of re-esablishing Russian dominance and Georgia is a convenient ass to hump. Nice to see "why don't you pick on someone your own size" stereotype play out so well with Russia.

You realize that Russia has been an imperialist power for the last... 200 years or so right? You thought they'd just stop? LOL

Actually, MOST of EU was STRICTLY against invasion of Iraq. However, when Bush and Co. fabricated the evidence, many have been fear-mongered into signing on. Later, when truth prevailed, most pulled out or drastically reduced their military presense in the region. Just because people were fooled, does not reduce their judgement credibility, Dennis.

200??? Try 900 or so years of imperialistic ambition, culminating with at least 400 years of strong advances.
