Huh? I have nothing at all against people who use illegal drugs, and I have used them myself without regret. I have seen both sides of the story with my friends: people who could control it and have fun, and people who started screwing up themselves and their relationships with it. Yeah but you need a lot of energy and time to grow plants. For real drugs I can cook them up really quickly if it were legal since I'm a chemist. For example there are about one million hits of LSD in a liter of undiluted solution. And LSD is one of the tougher ones to synth since it is very sensitive to visible light.

I guess my only point was that market price seemed to be market price, regardless of a drugs legality.

In the past year, I have paid approximately $40-$50 per bag of mostly good herb, assuming the bulk of them weighed straight at 3.5g, that makes it about $14.00/g.

In the Netherlands, most of what I bought (on each trip - first trip ER was ~$1.21 USD/1 EUR, second was ~$1.60/ 1 EUR) ran between $7 EUR and $12 EUR per gram, meaning at best I was saving $5-$6 per gram, but usually wasn't saving much of anything at all when it came to buying good herb, especially on the second trip.

Basically it seemed like the only way the government could avoid the black market was to compete with it directly, and as long as demand stays the same, prices will too (to a degree).
