I guess Germany is socialist as well now, funny how their economy is stronger than the USA's and no one is fleeing Germany, in fact hundreds of thousands of people flee TO Germany every year. (Germany is just an example btw).

And take my country for example (I'm refering to Canada, I am also an American on paper). We are considered "socialist" by you I suspect, and our economy which is almost purely dependant on yours is significantly stronger right now and we are barely feeling any effects apart from elevated gas prices.

Protectionism and other democratic economic policies work, the classic tax slashing and pocket lining the Republicans are known for does not work in this day and age.

I just realized, you may not even be talking about the economy, and probably aren't given most republicans/conservatives wouldn't know how to spell inflation, so if it's values and social reform you're clinging so dearly to then ha.
