I mostly agree with Echo about macs and logic, OSX is better than vista (vista DOES suck IMO), but logic is not used by most trance producers. Most people are using ableton from what I've seen, since it runs on both windows and OSX. OSX has advantages but is more expensive... so... hmmm...
Logic has great advantges as a front end for PT though, so thats something to consider.
EDIT: Hah, echo got there first...
I often get like 50+ ms delay on plugins... It really adds up quite significantly...
