Yeah, I loved when I was England that when you saw a price on something, you paid that price... and no more. I'm just so used to our odd system that it doesn't bother me anymore.

Gogo Australia.

We only got gst in the last 20 years (which is kind of like sales tax/vat etc) and even then its a flat 10%, in every state and YOU MUST include it in the price on the shelf etc, although your bill says the price and how much of that is gst, otherwise you don't hear about it. I can goto the supermarket and buy a 9.99 can of beans with 10 bucks fortunately.

America/other places seriously piss me off. Thank god I get to pay everything in usd online usually, and I don't have to pay VAT or anything. Why the hell wouldn't you just have it included in the shelf price?

Especially when its like

Sales tax+10%
Service fee+15%
Employee health insurance+2%

Fuck off, why not just have it legally forced to be included in the price.

one thing more that pisses me off about this is, that they add it at the checkout. that is illegal in finland at least. you have to state the full price of the product, including VAT. you can't use the VATless price to market your product. so yeah, FUCK YOU beatport!

It's stupid, really. I shop at cdjshop on occasion, and they don't charge me VAT...Why should Beatport be able to charge tax to foreigners?

Bullsh!t.

i only used beatport once, for a track i couldn't wait for elsewhere and I find the system clunky & shit. Stuff like this just ensures I won't use them again, i'll even pay someone i know in the states to buy it for me if i need to.

Beatport take the piss.

I love how any time I buy anything it downloads at 100kb/sec max even though I'm on 20mbit (should be about 2mb/sec!)

If you were the world's number one digital distributor for dance music, I'm sure you'd have a bit of bandwidth consumption too.

I think I'd have a bit of bandwidth to provide as well.
