I think Clockwork blows the Shining out of the water.

I'm amazed with all of the other "better" Kubrick films mentioned, no one has said Dr. Strangelove, easily one of the best 3 films that he did.

Did the movie really differ from the book? only several things were changed if I remember (sex scene and the ending?)

I love all of Kubrick's films, but they're all so different from one another that I find it hard to even compare them. All of them were masterfully directed but I'd have to say 2001 was his greatest.
