Spiders are sweet when they're catching stuff, but if they're on me, I'd rather be on fire

We have these in Cuba.

They live in holes they dig in the ground, as a kid we used to fish them :-) . When it rains their homes get all full of water and they crawl into your house. If they bite you it causes fever and pain.

I have a love hate relationship with them, they have the creepiest ways. The second you less imaging you look and there she is, very close, looking at you with all those eyes. Never mind the times I step over them without wearing shoes in the middle of the night.

Really? I don't remember any of them ever crawling around my grandparents house. Lots of lizards, and cockroaches, but never any big spiders like that though.

She wrapped it up, then lets it die. She went after it again later once it settled down in the straightjacket, and ate it. If the captive insect is a fighting/predatorial one, that is when the spider will bite it and inject it with venom which acts as a neurotoxin paralizing their pray, otherwise they let it wiggle tightly until their death or fatigue.

I never used to be scared of spiders until I got bit by one....

It happened 3 years ago on my vacation in Montenegro. My family has a cottage there and it's on a hill with a lot of forrest around, as well as a lot of insects. I used to love catching all sorts of insects here when I was little, but can't even think of touching one right now.
I didn't feel the bite or see it.

2 Days later I was on a plane back home and started to get a lot of pain in my left calf. Didn't think anything of it....just thought I was tired...
I went to sleep that night and I was in terrible pain. My whole leg was throbbing all the way up to my hip, but I didn't look much into it...probably should have because the next morning I woke up to a wonderful surprise.
I noticed a big hole in my leg. It was black and about .5 inches in width. ( I have to metion that I am so facinated by gross things) I then went outside with my mom where it was really bright outside and looked at it. It looked like I was shot...and the hole was spreading.
I then proceeded to squeeze it just for the fun of seeing what's in there. I was gonna go back into the kitchen and get some towels but then realized that I couldn't even step on my foot because the pain was just too much to handle.
I squeezed it more and it started to bleed...not drip but gush out of the hole. Then little chunks of rotten mean were coming out, so at this point I decided it's time to go to the hospital.
Got to the hospital, they saw my leg and got me in right away. They were scared that it was going to spread and if any of you know, when a person gets bit and if it spreads a lot it can get to the point where a part of leg could be missing or even death.
Lucky for me though, the spider that bit me wasn't poisonus...so now you're probably wondering why it got so big and why it looked like it could have been dangerous....well....this is the interesting part...
The spider that bit me, was a female who laid eggs inside my leg. So because this was almost a 7 day process, the eggs probably turned into little spiders (god knows how many) who were eating my flesh and digging deeper and deeper into my leg.

I eventually got it cleaned up and was fine. But the whole was so deep that you could put more than half a toothpick into it. I still have a scar and I don't think it will ever go away...

But I still think spiders are incredible creatures but I am so afraid of them!

I found this picture online...my bite looked something like this just not so wide but deeper...
