I would suggest you to invest in monitor speakers first. If you feel the need afterwards for better ADC/DAC then save up to invest in that . This way you really can't go wrong. You already have a decent audio interface is it is. It may not be perfect, but it is more than capable of doing the job |

Did I understand correctly:
Someone with 400e/pair monitors are going to buy new audio interface and cables worth of thousands of euros and you guys are encouraging him to buy them before replacing his monitors?
I doubt that new audio interface would significantly improve sound at least with those tannoys?
edit: If you are unable to do good sounding mixes, i doubt the motu 24/io is the culprit. Even if it may not be really top super high end studio class. It shouldn't be so bad that it really colors and spoils the sound.
I agree that dacs and audio interfaces etc. have differences, but at least in this price class they shouldn't be so big. At least when recording synts??? And would anyone be able to hear them in final mix?
Noticing differences this small would propably require at least decent speakers and somewhat trained ear?
ps. This is not meant to be a flame or an offensive post. I am just trying to eh. "provoke" some discussion? |
