Today's Tune: Markus Schulz - You Won't See Me Cry (Deepsky's Farewell to Desert remix) [1999]
So I am a self professed Markus Schulz fanboy, but you'd think I'd hate this tune because it's got vocals. I just hate most vocal trance, that's all.
I love this tune because of following reasons. 1. One of best intro ever. 2. Piano trance when done well is win. 3. The vocals on this tune does not grate on my nerves, and the lyrics mean something to me. 4. Deepsky is win.
I turn around and I walk away. There is nothing else that I could say.
I turn around and I walk away. But you won't see me.
There is nothing else that I could say. But you won't see me cry...
PS: If anyone has a copy of this tune in CD or 320mp3, I'll pay for a copy.

Allow me to take you back to 2001. This fat lad named Ricky Smith is following the foot steps of a legend in making (can you guess who?)and is becoming a legend himself in the process. Mr Yohan ... this one is for you Sir.

M.I.K.E. played this tune in 2005 at VIVA ... one of the most incredible nights of my life that night.

If I may post a tune, how many of you remember this?
Afterburn - North Pole <-- Correct Title and easily one of the biggest tracks of all time.
Yohan, I must say I am almost completely offended at this thread as it contains a minimal amount of "forgotten trance classics".
Some trance classics that are an absolute must:
Natious - Amber (Lightning Mix) -- One of my favourite tracks of all time
Mara - One (Original Mix)
John Vesta - Substance (Original Mix)
Mario Piu - Unicorn '99 (Mas-Tea Mix)
Blacklight - Daydream (Original Mix)
Mauro Picotto - Lizard (Megavoices Remix)
Space Manoeuvres - Stage One (Orkidea Remix)
Moogwai - Viola (Original Mix)
Moogwai - A Night Out (Original Mix)
Miro - By Your Side (Original Mix)
Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes (Reworked Club Mix)
Timo Maas - Ubik (The Dance Original Mix)
Nat Monday - Nucleus (Original Mix)
Nemo - Spacemaker (Push Remix)
Mario Piu - Techno Harmony (Mario Piu Mix)
DJ Tomcraft - Silence (Original Mix)
Tastexperience - Summersault (Tall Paul Remix)
Salt Tank - Eugina (Original Mix)
Salk Tank - Dimension (Salt Tank Voices Of Reason Mix)
Mox Epoque - I Feel My (Extended Vox Mix)
Delerium ft. Sarah Maclachlan - Silence (Fade Sanctuary Mix)
Ascension - Someone (Slacker Elevation Vocal Mix)
Kayama Painters - Endless Wave (Albion Mix)
Ecano - Run (Z2 Mix)
Solar Stone - Seven Cities (V-One's Living Cities Mix)
Christopher Lawrence - Rush Hour (Original Mix)
Amethyst - Futura 2000 (Amethyst vs. Danny Howells Mix)
Mono Culture - Free (Extended Vocal Mix)
Andy Gray, Paul Oakenfold & Steve Osborne - Bunker (??? Mix)
Thats all for now. Going to do some digging in the archives. Most of these tracks surfaced and peaked from 1998-2001 by the legendary Oakenfold. I will update this list with Youtube links if they are available.

And your list is better in that aspect?
I should have made it clear. Most of the tunes I've put up so far would not be familiar to those that haven't been in the trance scene for a long time (after 2004 ish) So one of my purpose (but not only) is to get some of these older tunes familiar to the 'new' generation of trance addicts.

lol thats exactly the purpose of my list. Do you recognize half of those tracks? Every single one of those tracks are trance classics. People are oblivious to most of those tracks unless you followed trance in the late 90's. I've made sure not to list your standard cliched tracks either and I probably won't list many tracks from 2001-2004 simply because the Trance genre peaked from 1998-2000. Trance has regressed in a direction I could not have even imagined from 2002+. Nevertheless, its best that people are aware of such music so they have an idea of how Trance has changed over the last decade.

Heh. I recognized about 2/3 of your list
While I agree in principle about your argument, I do think the tunes I've put up are worthy of attention. But, that is subject to debate and yes, I've put up more popular tunes that just don't get play time anymore.
But like I said, this thread is more for educational purposes for new trance addicts into the scene who doesn't know some of the history of trance. (And those who want a memory trip)
I don't claim to be an expert at trance, but I do think I know a little bit more than most.
Never been a big fan of Oakey anyways... Tranceport was ok. (Did I just commit heresy?) lol
One of my favs of all time. Interesting, considering it's the last trance tune (AFAIK) by one dude named Stephane Bodzin. Yeah I know. The dude who does minimal/tech house stuff.
Always been a fan of euphoric more than uplifting trance. I just love the breakdown in these mixes. Plus Skylight mix IMO is the best closing tune for trance sets. Also prefer the Skylight mix due to it having more energy, but Velvet mix is quite decent as well.
