instead i'm going to get into the maintenance side of things, rather than working on new stuff. the pay might not be as lucrative, but the work is definately more stable. gonna renew my CCNA and pickup and MCITP in the holidays and start getting into admin work. woo!

Where are you thinking bout doing your MCITP?

I've done the CCNA courses that dimension data offer, ICND1 & 2 but need to find time to sit the exam. I hate cisco shit though, easy to configure, but IOS has so many glitches...

I would love to work part time also, but it's hard in IT, you can only get full time or contract work, there are very little part time jobs, specially in Adelaide

Gigs is mostly easier for a dj/producer. Less connections involved. At least in my case

I work in corporate finance (not wall street) and do well in that department.

Music is more of a hobby that comes and goes with my mood and available time. Over the winter I will be devoting more time to production...

Self study man... If uni has taught me anything, it's that ACTUALLY GOING is a complete waste of time. I do all my study as an external student, from home, despite the fact that I live 5 mins from campus lol. The books are about $300, then I'll just go sit the exam at Dimension.

Help desk jobs are probably the only part-time infrastructure jobs you will find. It's alot easier to find a part time job as a programmer or DBA, but alot harder to find a full time job haha.

Unfortunately, yes. Producing alone won't get you too far unless your very good. As Storyteller said, lots of gigs is the key. However, even if you get a popular production, it will most likely still be on every torrent site out there.

What about pimping for you mom or lil' sister. You could also be a drugrunner, seems to be profitable .

I work at a local governement for 2 days a week, still studying on the side. I am currently applying for jobs a music stores (the instrument selling business that is).

And make sure when you do eventually get caught, you get into a nice jail were you only get assraped twice a day.

I know of a guy who recently got busted. The polpol put some pressure on a client (some 'chick') who talked.....

do you think they'd let him produce on a MBP whilst in his cell?
