They "need" to increase taxes? I'm not sure when I've heard people talk about a return to the 50's. But anyway, I've worked hard to get where I am, have always paid my taxes, had to pay back $50K worth of student loans, and never asked anyone for a dime. Now because of my hard work I have a chance to take advantage of the perks that come along with it, which I fully intend on doing. Nothing wrong with that; anyone who busts their ass in school and work will have more doors open for them too. |
I've paid back more than that in student loans, so don't go crying about how much you've suffered. And yes, we do need to increase taxes at some point when the economy is on the upswing again, just not immediately. How else are we going to pay for massive expenses like the Iraq War (which, btw, while I've disagreed with all along, my taxes have supported)? I'm not sure what sort of consulting you do, but I'd expect that you should know something about bottom lines, revenues vs. expenses, that sort of thing.
