More interestingly its got a unique way of working, which must help you bust out of the more normal way of working with a DAW like cubase...

Maximlee, are you actually retarded or just trying to get into that headspace?
before you come in here dribbling your so called facts and messing up our shoes, why don't you learn to spell, mmkay?

It's far from unique. Actually it's concept is way older than the piano roll concept and Cubase and it's ancestors. Dating back from before the 80's! (So that would make it the 70s hehe )

Just google on "Trackers" such as Impulse Tracker, Scream Tracker, Protracker

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw2Mr2Es9mI, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado track was actually ripped from a track composed in protracker (program made in 1987), quite funny.

Yeah I know the concepts ancient, but its unusual to see it implemented these days, I should look into it a bit more, get myself out of the habits ableton puts me into and shake things up...

Who cares? All cars get you from point A to point B, assuming you know how to drive. All cell plans will allow you to call your friends, assuming you pay your bills. And as long as that meat is cooked, it doesn't really matter how. They're all tools, and although everybody has their personal preferences, they all get the job done. Sure - some cost a fraction of the price that others cost because they're less sophisticated. At the same time, if you're just beginning to produce, then you're shooting yourself in the foot if you automatically dive into the most complex programs available.

Most software vendors will make a trial version of their program(s) available. The best way to find out which sequencer you should use is to try all of them out and see which one suits you best.

Unless you're trying to incite another forum war, you don't want to ask this question. You don't even want to tiptoe around it. People argue enough about this topic *without* being prompted for their opinions.

I disagree... The question is "Which DAW would you choose" therefore the above post by Diginut & atx does not apply.

If you would put the above post in the right context proper questions would be, "Which car would you drive?". Would, not should.

+1 He was asking which WOULD we choose. That´s a different question entirely. I´m 90% happy with logic 8, but have my eyes on PT8. I would like to try their new midi, as the old midi editing was pretty bad imo.
Though its audio track handling is very nice. It¨s just crap that you need to buy proprietary hardware to run it. But then again, I did buy a mac, in order to run logic.
