you have to remember how much Rogers had to pay to get all these games. They paid $78 Million for the 8 games (thats 9.75 Mill a game). With approximately 54,000 seats for each game that would make each seat worth $180.56. They really didn't have a choice but to have the tickets so expensive.

I'm not disputing that. But remember, the NFL stood to make over double what they'd normally have made on a regular game in Buffalo. Also keep in mind, corporate advertising pays for a chunk of that as well. The TV deal is already had and owned by the Bills franchise, which in itself would have paid for another hefty chunk itself.

I can't imagine that Rogers would have received anything from the TV Deal. Rogers would have made money on any in stadium advertising and concessions...I am sure the Bills probably got a portion of that as well.

Rogers and the team that put this together are not making substantial money from this venture. The real hope was to see what interest there is in a NFL Team in Toronto. To me, it appears there isn't even close to enough interest in an NFL team in Toronto and anyone who has dreams of an NFL team in Toronto might as well kiss those dreams goodbye.

Ted Rogers was the man behind making this happening and he wanted to see an NFL team in toronto. With him passing away I think Rogers will back away from making any effort in obtaining an NFL team

They're not making any money at all... they're actually taking a HUGE loss with the series of events. They wanted a profit, but the failures of high pricing and bad 3 and 8 game packaging caused less than expected sales, and had to sell them by other means and giving many of them away. There was a great star article on this after the first game in August. Not to make themselves look like a failure, they expressed they did it for the good of the city and not to pake a profit... nice out, eh?

I very much agree... look at all the seats they tarped over in the best locations;

The best seats in the house were covered up with logo'd tarp. Sure they don't want people to throw stuff at the bench... but is it like this in a CFL game? Anyone know?

It looks like you are too far from the field of play. The Skydome wasn't designed for an NFL size field. If Toronto ever has a chance for an NFL team it will need a new stadium or a huge renovation to the Skydome.

They didn't get anything off the TV deal.
This is why I said 'would'.

But if Toronto had it's own franchise, that would be an additional source of revenue generated.

Don't be surprised if the Blue Jays get sold. Ted Rogers went against the word of his senior staff and bought the Jays. With Ted no longer running the company I can see them wanting to sell off the money pit that is the Blue Jays. They already let go a bunch of their marketing/sales people....and you don't normally downsize the part of the business that brings in money.
