I find it hard to believe that NERD are more "mainstream" than some of these trance acts these days.
I really think you are being far too precious about it. But everyone has their own opinion.
But please dont ever call Jay Z some random RnB singer again. That really got me going

No, I just know a lot more about that kind of music than you do.
How many times did Tiesto fill Festival Hall? How many people went to see AVB?
I saw NERD at The Forum with a very very intimate crowd.
They are massive as The Neptunes but that is production for other artists and not their music.
What kind of people do you think they are going to attract that will ruin your 'EDM' experience?

Charlee; I have honestly never heard of NERD or the members who make them up - my gf informed me they are rather big?? Therefore any trance names like Tiesto and Armin are more mainstream to me then NERD

I'm moderately happy with that. Probably better than this years actually, there were really only a couple of decent acts this year imo. FMF07 is still reigning supreme so far.
Been waiting forever to see Lawrence in Adelaide. Saw him for the first time at DV last year but the tent wasn't very full cos PvD, Carl Cox and someone else who I can't remember were all playing at the same time.
And yes, NERD are more mainstream than Tiesto etc. NERD have been played on Nova and Tiesto hasn't, and for me thats the test of mainstreaminess.

haha i think that's a pretty unfair assumption that i don't know about 'that kinda of music'
i think pharell williams, one of the biggest names in one of the largest commercial scenes in the largest music-consuming country in the world (US) is far better known than ferry corsten for example.
furthermore, if you think it's popularity, how about you compare album sales

We dont live in America.
NERD as a group is NOT The Neptunes or Pharrell Williams.
I have been waiting for these guys to come back out and I am happy that Future is touring them. As I said, people can have their own opinion

i didn't say anything about the neptunes: I was talking about Pharell being popular, as pretty much the lead singer in NERD obviously he's pretty relevant to me mentioning their popularity...
people know pharell, and people know he's part of NERD: and if they don't the flyer that future's pushing clearly says "with Pharell"
