Hmmm... I don't think you can say one song is enough to make one a tranceaddict but I started collecting trance after I had obsessively looked for couple of tracks I heard at big parties... they were

Binary Finary - 1998
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
DJ Tiesto - Sparkles [Transa Remix]
Mario Piu - Arabian Pleasure

before that I had heard trance a lot at parties but couldn't really name any songs or didn't know jack about DJs etc. This was some time around '98. Started clubbing '96 so I was clueless for a long time Plus it wasn't really possible to get trance from the internet before napster and fast connections became available.

Currently I'd say that I know much more about DJs, songs etc. than an average clubber. I have learnt quite a bit here too (esp. the alias thread! ) so thanks a bunch all.

Read This! the usual suspects

its been a long journey...
1. Pat Metheny, Paul Simon (graceland), etc lead me to World music. At the same time ('92) industrial music like KMFDM and Lords of Acid got me interested in electronic music.
2. World music lead me to Indian music and Ravi Shankar.
3. Which lead me to crossover dance/indian music (bally sagoo) in '96.
4. Which lead me to more modern trance anthems that everyone has mentioned (pvd-for a angel, miles-children, insomnia,...)and some that other havent said:
Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl (not trance but got me interested in techno).
Moby - Porcelain

But like u said Swamper, my knowledge of trance wouldnt be possible without Napster/Internet/Fast Net Connection/Rave culture.

what tune got me into trance.......it was Sasha-Xpander when the showed the Wipe Out 3 commercial..then i was interested in more trance music..so i went to mp3.com to see what they had and i DL a song from Trance[]Control called Dream of Trance. That song did it for me..Like my Signature says "Once you try trance, nothing else stands a change"....Because of trance it made me a greedy fuck..Fuck every other kind of music..

Hello!

Whoa....Hmmmm the track that got me interested into trance?? wow theres alot i must say. But theres one that has always stuck..and that is: Libra presents taylor--anomoly--calling your name..any remix..lol. There are others..such as PVD--seven ways...the whole cdx2. How about Sasha and J. Digweed--Nothern Exposure the original, eastern or western version or others like Vincent De moor--eternity, Vincent de moor--shamu. I think i have been a trance head from the start..lol. I have stuff all the way back from when Quadran was kickin it. But anyway...thats just a few

Heh... I can't say that there was any particular track that just got me hooked. I started listening to DnB when I was in grade 7/8 and just kinda drifted into trance. Prolly knew that I wanted more when I got Sasha and Digweed - Northern Exposure. Who knows, tho... Been a long time... =)

Dr Motte & Westbam - Music is the key (1999)
Astral Projection - People Can Fly
