I don't think the Koreans would be playing this good if they weren't the host nation. Meanwhile, USA is refusing to lose. To tie Korea after being outshot 19-6 shows that USA is capable of playing any team and keeping the score really tight.

The player of the game was definitely FRIEDEL who stopped an amazing penalty kick and made brilliant saves when he had to. The only goal that he couldn't stop was something no goalie could have stopped.

I say USA and Portugal will advance to the Round of 16. Here's why. USA will play Poland. Poland is not the team anyone expected to see. Poland will be missing some key players on their lineup due to yellow cards. All USA has to do is tie. Meanwhile Portugal and S. Korea will battle it out. Personally, I think Portugal was unprepared against USA and played their best soccer against Poland. Expect to see more of the same Portuguese offense in their upcoming game against S. Korea.

As for my team Poland, I'd rather be Holland. They didn't make the WC, but they didn't make a fool of themselves. Nevertheless, I still have my Polish Pride. Hopefully Poland will bounce back in 2006 at Germany.

Keep in mind that the US played Portugal without 3 of our top players. Reyna, our captain is out with an injury, Clint Mathis didn't play because of injury and ego reasons. As for Friedel in net, he's good, as is Keller. Most people would rather have Keller start in net for the US, but due to injury and the fact that they are about equal, Friedel is playing.

Now.... is there any way we can get rid of Agoos? ... Against Portugal, he has the own goal.... Against Korea he gets a card in the box bringing about the PK, which Friedel made an a great save on. People are beginning to see why he has 101 caps, yet this is still his first World Cup. I'd rather have Lalas on D, even if he is going on 40, or even 50. I don't know how old he is, but he's old.
