late in the evening, i was hesitant to go out to this by myself, but fortuently conviced orko to come along. bought some canned beans at the dominion on front but when we got there, after standing in line for god knows how long, the guestlist girl said that they were only letting in people for free up to 12. but she was nice enough to give us reduced passes which was good.
the night didn't start off as i wanted to and almost made it go down the crap shoot. after taming the beast within me, i started to enjoy the night.
all in all, the set wasn't as good i thought it would. he played in sections, according to genre, which is understandable but i'm pretty sure better transitions between them could've been done better instead of suddenly dropping or raising the bpm. thankfully though, i came there for the tunes that were being played. great great classics were played. some remixes were meh (reflekt - i need to be loved ) but overall i was happy with the trance and house that he played, especially that old school house. mmm mmm that was good.
final thoughts...the guv was very nicely decorated last night which was great to see. the free heinikens were a plus as well. the sound was crisp meaning you could actually hear the melodies instead of the constant bass. but the main thing was seeing people that i haven't seen in ages (jenn ). it was also great meeting some new TAs which stuck around to the bitter end.
