Oh wait there won't be any. When we talked up circus the first thing security said was that this night was a special event and there where NO camera's allowed!!!! WTF!!! It wasn't NOT Nikita's rule it was the rule set down by Camel.... the sponsor of the event. ( I think that is why some got cards with tickets in the mail... remember getting mag light flashlights or cigarettes from a previous night.... they scan your entire License and tada there is your address) NOT a good way to start out a night!!!
Then to get a drink up stairs you had to have a wrist band. I went up there no problem the first time and started off my tab for the evening. But decided to not have any issues for my next trip..and went to get a wrist band. In order to get one you needed to get your id scanned by the Camel people.
The first question they asked me was if I smoked. I told them no. WRONG answer! All of a sudden I could not get a wrist band. I even told them I had my credit card and ID upstairs and still could not get it!!!! It was for smokers only. I felt segregated!!! Thank god Greg put a band on that Robert gave him on loose and he went to go back to get one.
Loved how Circus was set up and decorated inside. The sound was a little off. Some spots had a dead zone. While other spots where too loud. Since it was a Camel event there was a lot of advertisement. One would think that pictures would be great. Hellloooo free promotion!!!!! UGH!!!
Anyways I was in a pretty bad mood but they had a photo shoot upstairs and after doing and and venting to a poor guy that worked with the event and a drink I felt better!
When it comes to the music Gil and Fei-Fei owned the main room. Acheesta showed up at 2am and pretty much slammed 1 Top 40 track into another!!! It was awful!!! Anyone could do that!!!
Really like what I heard from Randy as well.
There where a lot of people there who have never been to Circus and loved it!!! Hope those people will keep coming back!!!
Wow, sounds completely ridiculous! Makes me wonder when Circus will have "sponsor" like this again since I didn't see anything about it, must have been a complete surprise...
I got the postcard and tix in the mail (4 of them, actually), but have never bought any cigarettes, maglights, or anything like that. They must be either be collecting addresses from the front door ID check scans or from Groovetickets, since I have bought tix to Circus thru Groovetickets before.
Anyway, a note to all promoters: Give us a heads-up about sponsored events in the future so we can save ourselves the bad experience and stay home or go elsewhere!
Then again, the Dance4Life benefit was a sponsored event and was promoted by a condom company and Crater Lake vodka, but there were cameras everywhere, no problem! Sound like Camel just has its head up its ass, I'll never smoke 'em!

Yeah, there were issues with last Saturday. But free entry and decent music with a set up that is perfect for trance lovers... I'd still go again.
Perhaps living in OC makes me too tolerant of the much better LA clubs like Vanguard and Circus.

I was told by my friends in security that George Acosta is the one who requested no cameras.

untrue. it was Camel. They were pretty much running the show internally.

I was annoyed/disappointed when I first got there and found out I couldn't bring my camera in, but I quickly got over it because the night was SO MUCH FUN! I was even able to partake in all the fun free goodies without selling my soul to Camel.
i dont think it was a bad experience. I thought it was cool to have a different thing going. Michelle is a high maintance clubber thats all

Bad experience? No way! Cameras or no cameras, this was an awesome night! The DJ set up, production, music, and the crowd all rocked! It was a great night. There should be more nights like this!

I agree! I feel like everyone is always complaining on TA. I like to focus on the positive. It truly was a wonderful night.

I also had problems with the door last Saturday. I took a cab to the club, so I couldn't drop the camera off at home, and my friends were already spinning, so there was nothing I could really do except change plans.
For those of you looking for a good time, next Saturday is a local DJs night. Support your local scene and come to Nikita!
