Why wouldn't he be serious? It's an overrated piece of turd.

Over-rated, maybe, but I don't think it's bad enough to be considered a movie one would walk out on. If you do you're just being pretentious.

That wouldn't surprise me the least actually.
I really like Pulp Fiction, but it has far more to do with some things going on in my life when that movie came out than it does with me actually thinking it's brilliant.
My opinion of Tarantino is pretty well known here.

Hopefully these aren't the things from the movie that were going on in your life:
- keeping a watch up your ass for 2 years
- getting butt-raped by a redneck in a basement
- cleaning up pieces of brain and skull in the back seat of a car
- nearly banging your boss's wife then saving her with an adrenaline shot

Quentin is up there next to Woody and Stanley.
I think what people dislike about his movies is that he brings old " not so popular anymore " movie stars back to the big screen like Foster, Grier , Carradine , Sony Chiba , Travolta and leaves the big movie stars looking like shit ( De niro , Thurman , Keaton)
Which is precisely what I like about his movies because it leaves you that surprise factor never knowing what to expect from him or the characters that are involved in the film.
Also another thing I find that people dislike is the way the story goes is never on a straight time line , which i find it brilliant.
